What to do (and wear) in Florida

Here you’ll find ideas for local shopping, restaurants, and activities that you can plan on doing along with some insight into what locals are wearing at these locations!

If you’re anything like me, one of your first thoughts after booking a vacation is “what am I going to wear?” Each vacation is a new adventure, with new climate, style, season, and vibe. While the excitement is real, I am simultaneously thinking to my self “I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!” So we diligently get on our laptops and begin searching with no real direction (dangerous and overwhelming) and end up admitting defeat once we realize we have no idea what we’re looking for. Now before you go full packing spiral (like me), here are some thoughtfully curated ideas for guys and gals alike that will hopefully help you tick one more thing off your pre-trip to-do list in a much less stressful manner.

A popular second question after booking a vacation is what are we going to do? For me, knowing what I’m going to be spending time doing is crucial for me in order to properly pack. Here you’ll find ideas for local shopping, restaurants, and activities that you can plan on doing along with some insight into what locals are wearing at these locations.

St. Armand's Circle

If you’re planning on spending the day shopping, consider visiting St Armand’s Circle near Lido Key. There you will find many options, including Lilly Pulitzer, Tommy Bahama, Salt Life, and local boutiques. If you need a pick-me-up while shopping, the circle boasts many options including Starbucks, Daiquiri Deck, Ben & Jerry’s, and Le Macaron. St. Armand’s is outdoor shopping, so keeping your outfit light and breezy will help you enjoy the day even more!

Longboat Key Beach

Longboat Key Beach has beautiful blue water, peaceful beaches, and light sand. Keeping a cover up on hand is perfect for stopping at local sandwich and ice cream shops when it’s time to refuel. Large beach totes are key for keeping the essentials with you all day long. Don’t forget your sunscreen; Florida sun is strong!

Chart House

You’ve arrived in the coastal vibes, which means seafood is a popular choice. If you’re looking to enjoy delicious cuisine (with a waterfront view) and have the opportunity to dress up, Chart House is an amazing option. The sunset views will give you plenty of photo ops!

Ringling Museum

Ringling Museum is a classic and historic spot for any Sarasota/Bradenton vacation. At the Ringling, you can enjoy the Museum of Art, which hosts 21 galleries, the Mable Ringling Rose Garden, and the historic Ca’ d’Zan Mansion to name a few things. Ringling has both indoor and outdoor spaces, so keeping your outfit light and casual will help you enjoy more time at the museum!

The Sarasota-Bradenton area has many options for things to do while you’re here on vacation; it won’t be difficult to stay busy! Summer outfits can be simple to put together once you have a direction to go in. Think coastal, warm, prints, pops of color, and bold, fun accessories. Hopefully vacation outfit and excursion planning is one step closer to being done for you, and we hope to host you soon!

your next vacation awaits!
